Shakti Udaan is an innovative world of
opportunities for the under-privileged girls where
they acquire free training of various vocational
courses. These courses are systematically designed
by expert faculty members to equip these girls with
the sought-after creative skills which are then
honed so as to enable them with a dignified
livelihood. They learn. They excel. They innovate!
All of this is to make them self-reliant and
independent in the midst of their adverse
circumstances, so that they live with a purpose,
confidence and freedom.
Endowing wings of freedom
Under the aegis of Shakti, girls receive scholarships to
study up to Class 12. Each Shakti girl is motivated to
study hard, become monetarily self-reliant and live with
dignity. She pledges that she will never opt for
foeticide, nor allow or encourage others to do so. And that
once financially able, she will support another needy
girl’s education.

Besides providing scholarship and training, Shakti, a
movement spearheaded by Anandmurti Gurumaa, works at
various levels for raising awareness and educating society
at large towards equality of human beings irrespective of

Shakti Udaan, Kaithal
It is the flagship vocational training institute set
up in 2008. It wishes to empower women with the hope
to find sustainable solutions to all social problems
stemming from illiteracy and ignorance. It offers
skilful training courses to underprivileged girls
including computer course, henna design course,
specialised beauty, hair and make-up course,
embroidery- stitching and tailoring courses. Along
with high-quality training the entire course material
is also provided to the students without any charge
in order to enhance a smooth learning process.
Financial independence is the building foundation to
boost one’s confidence and therefore the training
provided is customised to meet professional standards
to help them secure a reliable job.
Since
its inception, more than 9500 girls have received
training from the Centre, typically those who were
unable to receive formal education. The curriculum is
designed in such a way so as to impart hands-on
techniques to the girls so that they may walk towards
the wider industry with a competent approach. We
aspire to envision a progressive society which we
truly believe is possible if the women of today are
given due respect and entitlement.

Shakti Udaan, Mumbai
This centre has extended support to more than 1200
girls since June 2011. Professional and skilful
training is provided in beautician training and
garment making/tailoring. Additionally, 3 months
duration in basic computer, henna application, and
accounting software -Tally are also offered. Keeping
in mind the importance of language in the interactive
and professional industry a short course in spoken
English is also proffered. The simple idea is to
empower girls to catch hold of these skills which can
help them attain financial independence so they may
earn a decent living for themselves as well as
support their families.
As a part of the course,
various formal and informal techniques are used to
impart training so as to suit each girls potential
and capacity. On successfully completing the training
in their respective fields of interest, we are
assured that many women will join the workforce and
add on to the productivity of the economy as a whole.

This centre has been a beacon of
strength for the needy girls since its inception in
2014. Courses offered at the centre include
Beautician, Computer and Stitching. More than
1900 girls have successfully completed the courses
and many have entered the professional world becoming
financially independent and able. Along-with
professional training programmes, often workshops
like baking biscuits, chocolate making, dance
workshops, yoga training and likewise are organised
with the sole purpose to help girls achieve an
overall excellency. Regular picnics are also arranged
for the students to take a break from the mundane
life and enjoy a day with gratitude filled hearts
appreciating the beauty of life. As it turns out they
have an extremely enjoyable time where a much needed
boost is given to their strengths.
The objective
of all these institutes is simply to entrust women
with a voice by providing them a platform to best
explore their innate skills and talents. The heart
touching stories of all our girls enrolled in the
centres turnout to be a constant reminder to us that
we have yet that mile extra to go, to transform more
such lives.

This centre has been providing wings
to young girls bubbling with immense talent and
energy so that they can unleash their potential
rightfully to attain self-dependence. The centre was
established in 2018 and has since been successfully
offering beautician and stitching courses for girls.
The centre has extended help to more than 150 girls
making them financially independent and able. Apart
from this, tuitions are also provided to needy
students from Class I to V. The centre is slowly
paving way for these young girls to make the best use
of their skills to make a dignified living.
The
centres do not aim at making women strong, they
already are an epitome of strength. The purpose is to
empower them so that there is an open arm acceptance
towards a woman’s grace, intelligence and her
fearless decision making, not only from the family to
which she belongs but also the community of which she
is an active part.

This centre had been catering to students seeking to
rise high offering them beautician training, henna
application, stitching and computer course. As a part
of the stitching course, girls in need are provided
with sewing machines as well, so that no obstacle
stands in between their path and goal. The excitement
and thrill they feel while receiving such valuable
asset that adds to their abundant creative zeal, is
worth a watch; it also stands to be a reason to
motivate us to do even better. It is our
responsibility as adults and peers to encourage every
girl ignite her passion for learning and evolving.
These
opportunities are not only their doorway to reliable
sources of income to meet their financial and family
obligations smoothly, but also a means for them to
reach the pinnacle of their potential. Currently the
Shakti Gurgaon centre is not operating.
